Dodo from Alice in Wonderland / Frienchise tattoo

“The best way to explain it is to do it.” The dodo is an extinct flightless bird that was living on the island of Mauritius, which is east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. This on is depicted wearing a fancy jacket and is brought straight out of the film "Alice in Wonderland" to the skin of our customer. The face of our little friend is really stunning! The beautiful contrast between the dark and the light is bringing this bird back to life, especially in the face with the black beak with the precisely placed white highlights on it and all over the other important parts in the face, like the nose or the eye.

Tiger’s watching over time / black ans gray realism tattoo

Tigers are considered sacred and divine creatures in many cultures. According to Hindu mythology, the tiger serves as the vehicle of goddess Durga at the time of battle. Besides their spiritual importance, they also play a significant role in maintaining the biodiversity of an ecosystem. As an apex predator, the tiger sits at the top of the food chain. They have no natural predators, but they remain vulnerable to poaching and human interference. This arm started as a cover up for something that wasn't looking good anymore and was placed wrong. Meanwhile, the Tattoo got expanded over the whole arm and soon will be continued onto the upper inner arm.

Framed eye / Old school – black and gray tattoo

An eye on the elbow is something you don't see every day. The tattoo got designed in an oldchool theme but not without exceptions. For instance the eye it self is not really old-school, nor is the frame. But overall it fits to the rest of the arm. Since it's not a coloured tattoo, it has to shine threw its shading and contrast. The eye it self is balanced in shading, but what aren't are the flowers, the empty space in them lets them pop out in front of the dark leaves surrounding them. Since the flower leaves are not coloured, they make the tattoo fade beautifully into the surrounding skin.

Abstract realism / Floral, realism tattoo

Flowers are a common thing to be getting tattooed, which isn't bad. They are something organic, that can be shaped, design wise, into a lot of positions to fit perfectly to the spot they get tattooed on. Also, they do have a lot of Symbolism to them. Here we do have a combination of a realistic style but in an abstract composition. The man walking along the lone road with nothing else in mind. This tattoo has a movie poster vibe to it. It looks original, even with the common themes it has.

Diamond, music cover and a nail / “Mini” tattoos

Here we have three different tattoos, that have a few similarities. On the top left we do have a little scripting "proud" and below it a diamond, it has fine lines and is relatively small in size. Next to it we have a nail in an old school style, similar in size but not in style, due to the thick lines and the deep black that got used to create that striking classic tattoo style. Below both of them we have a tattoo that is a bigger than both of them, but in the lineart / linework style, you can also say fineline style to it, but usually our customers think of something small, if they describe it as fine line art.

Ancient statue : realism black and gray tattoo

Ancient statues become more and more relevant in the tattoo industry. Busts and statues most of the time, should look like they are out of stone. You do this by keeping some really strong contrast, to make sure the stone or marble looks like an object that never lets light through it. On the other side ancient artists made the surface of the objects really smooth so therefore a soft shading is required to portray these smooth curves. All in all it's the combination of both that replicates an art object onto the skin of our customers in a way that looks, as if you could touch it.

What we have experienced after the last few years is, that most of the time the small tattoos, tend to be those with meaning behind of them. Of course this is not the rule but most of the time a little script or even a little paw print let us remind us of something we love or want to achieve in our life.
